Public health authorities in Peru have intensified efforts to increase measles vaccination coverage through a mobile outreach initiative designed to reach children in both urban and community settings. The programme reflects a broader strategy aimed at preventing outbreaks of a highly contagious disease that continues to pose a global health risk.

The initiative involves the deployment of mobile health units and specialised immunisation teams to locations with high population flow, including schools, marketplaces, and residential areas. The campaign prioritises children up to 10 years of age, a group considered especially vulnerable to measles infection.
